Children's Institute for Learning Differences (CHILD)CHILD is an approved Non-Public Agency by the Washington State Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) to provide contracted therapeutic services to students from public school districts whose resources cannot adequately serve the complex needs of struggling children. CHILD is a therapeutic day school designed for students ages 5-16 and a developmental therapy clinic serving children 3-18. CHILD offers an individualized program focused on meeting academic and social emotional needs of students challenged in typical learning environments. Their programs offer highly individualized diagnostic teaching, proven behavior intervention, and social skills development. Hamlin Robinson School
Current Grades: K through 8th. Specific Language Disability (Dyslexia). Small classes are taught using the Slingerland, multi-sensory approach in reading, writing, spelling and all instructional areas. The goal is to help students discover the joy of learning, build positive self-
esteem, and explore their full creative potential while preparing them to return successfully to conventional classrooms. During the school year teachers provide after school tutoring for elementary age children in all subject areas. Slingerland Screening is available in the month of May.

Pacific Learning Centers, NW (PLC)Grades: K-12. PLC is a private special purpose school in operation since 2004. PLC has served students from Mount Vernon to Kent, from North Kitsap to Issaquah. The school offers small classes in a safe environment using a multi-sensory curriculum, direct instruction, Collaborative Problem-Solving, and cognitive behavioral therapy for children with learning disabilities such as Dyslexia, AD/HD, and mild to moderate developmental delays. Seattle Lutheran High School Student Support ServicesDirector of Student Support Services: Nicole White, Educational Therapist. Students in this program have 504 plans and have classroom accommodations. The Educational therapist acts as case manager, coordinating all accommodations in class and for test taking.
